I have had the fortune to teach painting again after many years of inactivity. I say fortune because it gives me the chance to go into the streets and parks of Rome and re-discover the beauty of this city.
We also went outside of the city to nearby Tivoli to visit the Villa D’Este. I had been there years before but I forgot how dramatic and lush the gardens are. And those wonderful fountains. Truly a wonderful day immersed in green.
These watercolours are purposely smaller. I’m trying to paint faster to be able to get down just the essentials of the light. The exercise has been useful.
